Founding Engineer (Applied AI)
Are you an experienced AI builder with a product mindset, ready to own something end to end and see it used by real customers?
About veyra
About the role
We've built a robust data and analytics foundation designed to support machine learning and AI-driven products from day one.
You'll lead the development and maintenance of our next-generation intelligence layer, including:
- •Machine learning models for prediction, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis
- •An agentic system that reacts to alerts, investigates problems, and synthesises insights
- •AI-driven outputs that dynamically shape what users see and how they act
You'll work closely with our CEO and full-stack engineers, and be the technical owner of this initiative, from first production models to customer-facing systems that customers rely on.
This is not a research role. It's about shipping real value. Owning this end to end also means contributing as a senior software engineer when needed; helping evolve core systems, unblock product work, and ensure what you build actually lands with customers.
What will you do?
- •Design, build, and deploy ML systems that operate on our unified manufacturing data model to deliver predictions, anomaly detection, and root-cause analysis for customers
- •Build agentic workflows using LLMs:
- •Alert-triggered investigations
- •Multi-step reasoning over structured data
- •Insight synthesis and prioritisation
- •Collaborate on:
- •AI-driven UX concepts (what the system should show, explain, and recommend)
- •Evaluation strategies (what "good" looks like)
- •Own early MLOps:
- •Training and deployment pipelines
- •Monitoring model performance and drift
- •Working pragmatically with evolving infrastructure
- •Contribute as a senior software engineer where needed, helping build and evolve the core product alongside the rest of the team
What is your background?
Note: While we believe the following skills are important for success in this role, we value curiosity and a willingness to learn over ticking every box.
Must-haves
- •Strong experience building and shipping ML-powered products
- •Hands-on experience with LLMs in production (e.g. RAG, agents, orchestration, evaluation)
- •Comfort owning ambiguous, end-to-end problems
- •Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production systems
- •A product mindset: you build beautiful, well-crafted solutions that solve real customer problems that are used in practice, not just in theory
Nice-to-haves
- •Experience with anomaly detection, forecasting, or RCA-style problems
- •Exposure to MLOps tooling and practices
- •Experience working with industrial / time-series data
- •Startup experience
Soft skills
- •Entrepreneurial mindset: you thrive in fast-paced and ambiguous environments
- •Straight-shooter: you are someone who tells it like it is, good or bad
- •Collaborative truth-seeker: you seek open discussion of problems, even in disagreement, and prioritise finding the best solution over proving yourself right
- •Doer: you get stuff done and understand that building a successful start-up requires hard work
- •You enjoy building meaningful relationships with colleagues
What do we offer?
- •A unique opportunity to join a B2B SaaS start-up with PMF
- •Taking a lead role in an ambitious team, united by the drive to achieve extraordinary results
- •Having an impact from day 1, shaping the future of the company
- •Compensation that reflects the responsibility of the role (salary + equity)
- •An office in central Stockholm
